Barbara Ann Lofton

July 21, 1944 — November 13, 2025

Barbara Ann Lofton, 81, of Saucier, MS., was restored to perfect health on November 13, 2025, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at Azalea Gardens in Wiggins. Barbara was born on July 21, 1944, to her parents, Dan Chadwick and Betty Joyce (Boone) Williams, in Jackson, MS. Barbara loved being a farmer's wife. She loved nature and always had a passion for gardening and tending to her plants. Barbara was well known and loved in her community, where she took pride in being an active participant. She owned Airey Grocery in Saucier for many years, which also allowed her to give back and become well-known in the Saucier community. Barbara served honorably as the Chairwoman of the Women's Committee for the Harrison County Farm Bureau Division for over ten years. In 2016, Barbara became a resident of Azalea Gardens Nursing Home after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Even though the suffering of the disease did not end there, it did give Barbara a sense of life that she had been missing. She was free to be the woman the disease was making her become. And with that freedom, she blossomed, she loved, and she DANCED! Down the halls or in her room, Barbara danced and continued to embrace her love of music that lived deep within her bones. She was known as Aunt Barbara, and for nine years, she may not have always remembered your name or who you were, BUT she remembered the love. Her final gift to life was her brain, donating it to the University of Florida Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease, Brain Tissue Bank, hoping to help find a cure for the awful disease that tried to steal her joy.  Whether she was Mom, Gran, or Aunt Barbara, each relationship she shared was touched and left with ALL of her love, her passion for life, and her love of growing things. Barbara is preceded in death by her first husband, Hollis Donovan Daughdrill, in 1969; her second husband, Jerry Walker Lofton, in 1994; one daughter, Sheri Daughdrill Fernandez; and her parents, Dan and Betty Williams. Left to cherish her love, one daughter, Sheila Daughdrill Anderson; one son, Jason (Omera) Lofton; seven grandchildren, Adam Dedeaux, Ryan Groth, Ethan Lofton, Dustin Groth, Cody Groth, Emery Lofton, and Aubrey Lofton; and five great-grandchildren, Julian, Kanon, Colbie, Joshua, and Avery.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Lofton family, and we ask that you remember her family during this difficult time.
