Aubrey Augusta Collier, 74 of Wiggins, passed away Saturday surrounded by his family. He was born May 19, 1946 in Mobile, AL, the sixth of fourteen children to Arthur & Dorothy (Barber) Collier. Aubrey grew up in and around the Grand Bay and Bayou La Batre area where he enjoyed fishing, when he wasn't working. In a home with 13 brothers and sisters, you might imagine there was never a dull moment. He loved to play in the woods and outdoors, building clubhouses and huts with his brothers and sisters. As he got older, he went on shrimping and fishing boats with his family, working in the seafood industry. Aubrey met Dorothy in Biloxi and they were married, making their home in Biloxi where he worked for the City of Biloxi for many years. He was a Christian by faith, attending Latimer Assembly of God church where he served faithfully for many years. A loving son, brother, husband and father, he was a caring provider for his family that will be missed beyond measure. Aubrey was preceded by: his parents, his loving wife, Dorothy, their son Bert, and siblings: brothers Joe, Charlie and Skinny Collier, his sister Lilly Rose Johnson and an infant sister, Ida Matilda Collier. Left to cherish his memories are: his two sons, Aubrey "Butch" Collier, Jr. of Ocean Springs, and Allen (Angel) Collier of Wiggins; five sisters: Rhoda (Danny) Chapman of Wiggins, Theo (Thomas) Privett and Edna Nell Hill, both of Theodore, AL, Dot (Bobby) Ross and Beverly Justice, both of Ocean Springs; three brothers: Peanut (Myrtle) Collier of Latimer, Donnie Collier of Gulfport, and Cecil Collier of Wiggins. He leaves a legacy of six grandchildren and two great-grands, all of whom he loved dearly, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Aubrey's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A graveside service is set for Saturday, June 6, 2020, at New Fayard Church on Jim Ramsay Road, with everyone welcome to attend. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Collier family in their time of need. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
