Arthur Ray Lewis

Arthur Ray Lewis, 62 of Gulfport, passed away June 10th at Memorial Hospital. Born July 22, 1957 in Mobile, AL, Arthur was the oldest of seven children to Arthur & Marelle (Jones) Lewis. He grew up in South Alabama & Mississippi, enjoying fishing, hunting, and roaming the woods with his brother. After school, he went to work in construction, and spent his career there. Arthur loved the beach and living close to it, often riding his bicycle or walking down by it. He had a calm demeanor about him and enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone. A loving brother that always told his siblings that he loved them, Arthur will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Arthur & Marelle Lewis. Arthur is survived by his siblings: brothers Bobby, Mike (Joan) and James Lewis, and a sister Ruth Jaworowski, all of Gulfport, with his brother David (Nancy) Lewis of Long Beach and his sister Beth Barnes of OK. Arthur had several nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances over the years. His foinal wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring, with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
