Anthony Wayne Tew, 63 of Moss Point, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at his home. He was born on February 20, 1959 in Pascagoula, the baby of four children to Andrew Raymond and Eutaska "Tac" (Southern) Tew. He grew up in Pascagoula area where he enjoyed boxing. Tony as he was widely known, was an accomplished amateur boxer, winning several matches and trophies in his younger years. He married at a young age and made their home in Pascagoula. Tony worked in different shipyards and learned the ship fitting trade, spending his career in the industry. He is fondly remembered as a friendly, outgoing guy that enjoyed a good scuffle. Tony had a great sense of humor and wanted to be a circus clown, just so he could make people laugh. He had his share of challenges in life, doing his best to overcome them along they way. Known by some as "Cowboy", he was a bit of a ladies man as well. He enjoyed going out to clubs, listening to music and dancing, singing karaoke, and just having a good time. Tony was a "resourceful survivor" to say the least, and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Andy and Tac Tew, and three of his children, and infant son, Anthony Tew, Jr., and daughters Angela Pierce and Alicia Charlton, with one grandson, Gavin Charlton. Left to cherish his memories are: his daughter Kristi Mason of Moss Point; his sisters, Linda Stone of Canfield, OH, and Elaine (Ray) Broom of Grand Bay, AL, and one brother, Allen (Debbie) Tew of Vancleave, and his Terrier-mix sidekick, "Little Man". Tony leaves a legacy of twelve grandchildren: Jordan, Callie, Alden, Desiree, Blake, Caleb, Arika, Shai'anna, Colby, Gavin, Hayle, and Chance, three great-grands: Drew, Olivia, and Amara, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Tony's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A Celebration of his Life will be held Sunday afternoon, August 28th from 2 until 4 PM, at Truly Grace Church in Escatawpa. All are welcome to come remember Tony with the family. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Tew family in their time of need, and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
