Angela "Angie" Garrick Maxwell, 49, a resident of Florence, MS, passed away October 28, 2018, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. She succumbed to her courageous battle against brain cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2, at Jackson First Assembly of God Church, 6339 Highway 18 West, Jackson, MS. The following day, a second service will be held at 11 a.m. at Vibrant Church, 500 Holly Hills Rd., Columbus, MS. Angie was born in Keesler Air Force Base Hospital in Biloxi, the child of Charles Eugene "Gene" Garrick and Pamela "Pam" Schultz Garrick. She grew up in Columbus, MS. and graduated from Immanuel High School and Mississippi University for Women with a bachelor's degree in home economics in 1990. Shortly thereafter she wed David Reese Maxwell of Columbus, who became a minister of the Assembly of God Church. To their union were born Collin Reese Maxwell and Sallie Kathryn "Kadi" Maxwell. Angie loved life as shown by the smile which radiated from her beautiful face. She loved cats and she loved traveling the globe with her family. She loved food and cooking and trying out different cuisines. Her fighting spirit was evidenced by her rebuilding after losing her home in Hurricane Katrina. However, Angie reserved her most precious love for her family and her Savior. She was an active member of Jackson First. Angie is survived by her husband, David, son, Reese, and daughter Kadi, all of Florence; her parents, Gene and Pam Garrick of Columbus; sister, Lori Garrick Grant and husband Richard "Ricky" Grant, and their children, Jayme, Harrison and Macy Kate, all of Olive Branch, MS; grandmother, Flora Harrell Schultz of Tupelo. Her beloved aunts, Jan Garrick of Jackson and Jenny Irwin of Tupelo also survive her. Her paternal grandparents, Charles "Buddy" and Jean Garrick of Wiggins, MS and maternal grandfather, Ralph Schultz, predecease her. The family requests that memorials be made to the "Speed The Light Fund" at Jackson First Assembly Of God, 6339 Hwy 18 West, Jackson, MS 39209. Please indicate "Angie" on donations. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Maxwell family in their time of need, and asks that you remember them in your prayers over the coming days.
