Alvis Leon Partridge

October 9, 1932 — May 17, 2020

Meridian, MS

Alvis Leon Partridge, 87 of Meridian, passed away May 17th at UMMC in Jackson. Born and raised in the Dekalb area in Kemper county, he was the son and third of of eight children born to Henry Eugene & Hattie Mae (Harpour) Partridge. Growing up in rural South MS, Alvis loved to hunt and fish, spending lots of time doing so. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1951. Following his honorable discharge, he went to work driving a syrup truck. Driving was something he enjoyed, sticking to that through out his career. He worked and drove for Smith Bottling for some years, eventually retiring from Sanders Petroleum. Alvis was a quiet but hard working man. He enjoyed "looking after" his neighbors, checking in on them and helping keep their lawns mowed. He was easy-going, but loved a good laugh as much as anyone. He is remembered as a caring, loving father and an honest man. He will no doubt be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. Alvis was preceded by his parents, Henry & Hattie Mae Partridge; brothers Enos "Red", Wilmer Gene, Alton Lavon and Edward Franklin Partridge, and his sister Louise Partridge.  Left to cherish his memories are: his only child, Garland (Brandi) Partridge of Livingston, AL; his siblings, brothers James & Elton with one sister, Eloise Partridge. Alvis leaves a legacy of five grandchildren: Danielle and Scot Partridge, and Kohl, Cullen and Jordyn Bailey, two great-grands, Oakley and Oliver, with several additional extended family, friends and neighbors over the years. His wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring, with a memorial service to be set for a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Partridge family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them lifted up in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
