Mr. Alton Lynell Lee

August 31, 1947 — July 10, 2017

Mr. Alton Lynell Lee, 69 of Wiggins, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 10, 2017 in Wiggins. Lynell was born August 31, 1947 in Wiggins, the middle of 5 children to Roscoe and Vera Mae Smith Lee. He grew up in Stone county where he come to love hunting and fishing. He was a member of the SHS Class of 1966, and after graduation, was drafted into the US Army. He served during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1969. After his military service, he was a surveyor for MDOT, working on and building many of the highways around South MS. He also spent some years working at IP and Hood before becoming a millwright. He will be fondly remembered as a jovial person with a distinct giggle and a hearty laugh. A stern but loving father, husband, and friend, Lynell was more than crazy about his grandkids. He so enjoyed taking them fishing, and spending time on his pontoon boat. He loved to travel, especially to the Smokey Mountains, was always smiling and laughing, and a regular member of the "Chevron Gang". He will be sadly missed by all whos life he touched. Lynell is survived by his companion in life, Susan Baker; his children, daughters Janell Lee of Perk, Jennifer Turan of Wiggins, and Linda Lang of Hattiesburg, his sons, Chad Lee (Debbie) and Barry Lee (Stacy), both of Perk, and Terry Littlefield of Paramount, CA; his sisters, Maidie Ruth Farmer (Bill) of Wiggins, and Wanda Smith (Bud) of Poplarville; his former wife, Julia Fairley Lee; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grands, numerous nieces, nephews, and no telling how many friends. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Thursday morning, July 13th, beginning at 9:30 AM, at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry, followed by a chapel service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery in the Magnolia community. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the Lee family with arrangements, and asks that you keep the Lee family lifted up in prayer during this difficult time.
