Allen Bruce Crawford, 76 of Saucier, passed away February 24th at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport. He was born October 28, 1946 in Biloxi, the youngest of three children to Eddie Leroy and Lera Belle (King) Crawford. Allen grew up in Biloxi where as you might imagine, he loved fishing, and also enjoyed hunting and working with his hands. He was the type who would rather fish than just about anything, and spent a lot of time on the water, even working on shrimp boats when he was old enough. Allen attended Biloxi schools until he decided to join the US Marine Corp in 1966. After basic training was completed, Allen was sent to Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Honorably discharged in September of 1968, he returned home to Biloxi and went back to work on shrimp boats. After a while, he went to work as a carpenter, working for Billy Douglas for quite a few years. Allen would mix in as much time as he could with Alfred Lott too, and enjoyed both tremendously. He is remembered as a laid-back and relaxed person who would give you the shirt he was wearing if you needed it. Fishing and cooking were his favorite things to do, both of which he was pretty exceptional at as well. Allen had a great sense of humor that could be dry at times, but he loved laughing and having fun. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Eddie Crawford and Lera Belle McTrusty; his brother Edward L. "Butch" Crawford; and his wife, Brenda Crawford. Left to cherish his memories are: his sisters, Kay Hollis of Kissimmee, FL and Kathy Miller of MD. Allen leaves a legacy of four nieces: Dawn Tohill, Sheila Kell, Debi Rodriguez, and Valerie Habeeb, along with numerous extended family and friends through the years. His final wishes were to be cremated and interred at Biloxi National Cemetery, which his family is honoring. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Crawford family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
