Mr. Albert Eugene Holliman

July 20, 1946 — February 11, 2019

Mr. Albert Eugene Holliman, 72 of McHenry, passed away at his home on Monday, February 11, 2019. Eugene was born July 20, 1946 in Florida, the oldest of 6 children to Edward and Anna (Waltman) Holliman. He grew up in the Pass Christian area, and from an early age, he enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He was bitten by a snake as a boy, and was deathly afraid of all snakes from that point. Eugene dropped out of grade school to work and help support the family. He was always mechanically inclined, and enjoyed working on engines of all sizes, rarely coming across one he couldn't fix. He went to work for International Paper, and spent many years there until he decided to buy his own shrimp boat, which he worked for several years. Later, he worked as a mechanic for Harrison County before injury forced him into retirement. Afterward, he worked from home where he fixed things for neighbors and others, teaching his kids and grandkids as he went, and often never charging enough to cover his own expenses. That's the kind of man he was. A member of the Live Oak Choctaw Indians of Vancleave, Eugene is remembered as a loving father and grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his loving wife, Lilley Mae (Pearce) Holliman; his parents, Edward & Anna, and two infant sisters. Left to cherish his memories are: his children: Jeana (Rick) Roder of W. Va., Russell (Michele) Holliman of Pass Christian, Eddie (Susan) Holliman, and Cody Holliman, both of McHenry; his siblings: sisters Christine (Cotton) Smith, Bobbie (Norman) Johnson, Ruby Pavolini, and Monica Holloman, and a brother, Alfred Holloman. He leaves a legacy of thirteen grandchildren, 5 great-grands, numerous nieces and nephews, and untold numbers of friends and customers over the years. His wishes were to be cremated, and interred with his wife, which his family is honoring. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Holliman family in their time of need, and asks everyone to keep them lifted up in prayer over the coming days.
