Rev. Adele B. Bennett, 72 of Marrero, LA, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Passages Hospice in New Orleans. She was born July 9, 1948 at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Adele grew up and spent her life on the Westbank, where she enjoyed cooking and reading. She went to work at a young age, selling hot tamales from a cart on the street in New Orleans. Later, when she was old enough, Adele went to work at Elmer's Candy Company. One of her co-workers there had a son in the US Army, serving in Korea at the time. Knowing he was due to come home soon, she suggested they meet, which they did. Just seven (7) days later, they were married and made their home on the Westbank as well. Adele was a homemaker and a Christian by faith and they decided to start a Bible study in their home. That little group study grew and grew, eventually becoming a house church that met on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Adele became an ordained minister, helping pastor the church for a few years. The church eventually moved to a building of it's own, and Adele continued her online, counseling and prayer ministry for many years. She is remembered as a true lady with genuine heart of gold. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone, had the sweetest personality and was always eager to help anyone. Her loving kindness will be sadly missed by all whose life she touched. Adele was preceded by her parents, Dudley and Mabel Blank, her siblings Rannie, Gayle and Danny Blank, her husband, Isaach Bennett, Jr., with her daughter, Danielle Otero. Left to cherish her memories are: her son Marcus (Monique) Bennett of McHenry, her adopted daughter, Robin (Jon) Kennedy, Her son-in-law, Robert Otero. Adele leaves a legacy of six grandchildren Cort (Allison) Otero, Tyler (Katelynn), Savarese, Blake, Bennett, Michael, Malcolm, and Courtney Franklin, her great grandson, Cort "CJ" Otero, Jr., along with numerous extended family, friends, neighbors and fellow church members over the years. All who knew and loved her is welcome to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday afternoon, June 12, 2021 at 3 PM, at the Event Center located in the Best Western, 9475 Hwy 49, Gulfport, MS 39503. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Bennett family in their time of need. Please keep Marcus and the entire Bennett family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
