Mr. Ray Harston Ladner, 85 of the Barth Community, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Ray was born to Hugo Harston Ladner and Emily Hariel Ladner on July 20, 1934. He grew up in the Barth/Steep Hollow Community. He worked 37 years in the forestry business making his living operating heavy equipment. His family knew him only as a gentle, kindhearted and mild-mannered man. Some of Ray’s hobbies included deer hunting, riding horses, tending to his beloved animals and spending time with his wonderful family. Ray was one proud Grandpa, he loved his grandbabies! He joins his wife, June, to celebrate their 57th anniversary in Heaven. Ray is loved, will be missed and forever remembered. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, wife, Dorothy June Bosarge Ladner, daughter, Carla Earlene Ladner and brothers, Drexil, Lavelle, James E., Garland, Fred and Heber Ladner. He is survived by sister, Novella Brown, brother, Luther, daughters, Tina (Elvis) Williamson, Rebecca (Carlos) Velasquez, Donna (Kenny) Ladner and son, James Ray (Crystal) Ladner. Grandsons, Carlos Velasquez, Francisco (Allyson) Velasquez, Devon Velasquez, Lincoln Williamson, Elvis Williamson, Jr. and Caleb Ladner. Granddaughters, Madaline Ladner, Cheyanne (Zach) Coulter, Brandi Stevens, Julianna Ladner, Cassidy Ladner and Lyla June Dillard. Great granddaughter, Kylee Ann Williamson. Visitation will be Thursday evening, October 17, 2019 at Community Baptist Church from 6:00 PM until. The funeral service is set for 10:00 AM Friday morning, with interment to follow at the Ladner Cemetery beside his loving wife June, who passed away May 11th, 2019.
