Margaret Ruth (Lee) Smith

Margaret Ruth (Lee) Smith, age 72, of Picayune passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2019, surrounded by her family. Margaret was born Friday, March 14, 1947 to Henry and Earline (Woodward) Lee. She married her sweetheart and together they raised their three sons. She made a career as a respiratory therapist employed at Crosby Memorial for 20 plus years. She enjoyed being an active member of New Henleyfield Baptist Church and especially loved her Sunday School class. Nana, as she liked to be called by her grandchildren, was an amazing wife, mom and Dirt Cheap enthusiast. Her grandchildren were her heart and joy! There's no denying that her grandbabies were the people she loved the most! Time spent at Nana's house was very special. She won't let anyone walk out the front door before she tried to feed you. Margaret had a pure heart, kind spirit and loving nature. She was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed and will always be cherished. Loved ones waiting on the other side for Margaret include; her husband, William "Bloss" Smith; her parents, Henry and Earline Lee; brother, Jerry Lee and sister Claudia Powell. She leaves behind her loving sons, Chris (Jami), Josh (Amanda) and Aaron "Bucky" (Tonya); grandchildren, Sam (Kayla), Miranda, Lexi, Aiden, Bloss, Cody and Ariel; great-grand, Kinsley, brother, Doug (Carolyn), sister, Sylvia (Richard) along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Ms. Margaret's family would like to express a special thank you to her caregiver, Madelyn Smith for the love and compassion shown to Margaret during her final days. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25 at New Henleyfield Baptist Church from 10 to 12. Funeral service at 12 followed by interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
