Mr. Forest Eugene Beesley, 61, passed away late Friday evening at Stone County Hospital. Eugene was born May 27, 1957 in Hattiesburg, the son of Forest Hezekiah & Bessie Lois (Smith) Beesley. He grew up in Stone county and like most South MS boys, enjoyed hunting, fishing and most everything outdoors. He was an athletic young man and attended Stone county schools, after which Eugene took welding classes at MGCCC. He enlisted in the US Army in the post-Vietnam era, serving 2 years in Germany. Following his discharge, he went to work at the IP mill in Wiggins where he worked until an injury forced him to seek other employment. He enjoyed driving, and drove a school bus for Stone county for several years before moving into to MMC where he spent 12 years on a cement truck. Following that, he spent some time hauling logs for Brent Hickman. Eugene was a guy that loved kids and young people, and didn't want to grow up himself. Family friends have often remarked that he was "the oldest kid in the house". Most of his kids friends, and those from his time on the bus, knew him as "Pop" or "Mr. B" and he would help any of them in any way he could. He was definitely an outdoors guy, and loved floating the creek with family and friends. When he wasn't outside, he could often be found watching a John Wayne western, or an Elvis movie. His loving wife of 40 years, Cherell Ann (Shannon) recalls that he was a kind-herated, loving husband and life companion. His children, all of who he was close to, remember him as "one of us" and a dedicated father and family man. He will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Forest Hezekiah & Bessie Lois; his infant son, Michael Joseph; one brother, Buddy; and his uncles, Rev. Fred, Mitchell Lee, Doug, Estes, Allen, and Bill Smith; and one aunt, Beulah Lee. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife, Cherelle; their children: Andrew Beesley (Jennifer Potter), Matt (Susan) Beesley, Amy Leger, and "Tootie" Jean Marie Beesley; five grandchildren: Tori, Caden, Isabella, Tyler and Steven; and his siblings, Tom (Judy) McClure and Patricia (Jerry) Nall; along with countless friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday evening, April 25th from 6 until 9 PM at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. A second visitation will be Friday, April 26th from 1 until 2 PM at Ten Mile Baptist Church, with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM. Afterward, Eugene will be interred in the Smith-Lott Cemetery on New Hope Road. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the family, and asks that everyone keep them in your thoughts and prayers through the difficult time ahead.
