Eleanor B. (Payne) Price went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020. Eleanor was born April 8, 1933 in Scott County, Missouri. She was raised in Pine Bluff Arkansas and graduated from Pine Bluff High School. She attended beauty college in Pine Bluff and was a talented hairstylist, eventually owning her own salon for over 40 years. She lived and raised her family in Lumberton, MS.
Eleanor was best known in the community as a fabulous cook, and especially known for her delicious pies and cakes that she shared with friends and neighbors. She was a member of Lumberton United Methodist Church and served with the quilting committee and helped with other outreach ministries.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe R. Price, and her daughter Melody Price Bryant, along with her parents, Irma L. Payne and Tony L. Payne and an infant brother and sister. She is survived by her only sister Betty Payne Stover of Sevierville, Tennessee along with granddaughter Lindsey Williams (Albert), great-grandchildren Aidan and Clara Kate, several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The Price family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the loving kindness and special care given to Eleanor by her caregivers over the last few years.
Visitation will be held at Lumberton United Methodist Church, Saturday January 18, 2020 at 1:00pm followed by funeral service at 2:00pm. Interment will be held at Lumberton City Cemetery following the service.
