Carolyn Ann Gillespie

Carolyn Ann Gillespie, age 73, passed away on November 12, 2019.  She was born to J.W. and Viola (Gatlin) Gillespie on July 12, 1946.  She was a master cook at some of the Coast’s Casinos and her cakes were renowned.  For a while she even ran a hotel.  Carolyn was known for her stubbornness, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is.  She was from the school of hard knocks.  She shared her wisdom, free spirit and sometimes ornery self with those around her to keep everyone in line, taught her kid the “school of hard knocks” and gave her kids something to pass down to their children.  With that said she was genuine to a fault and caring yet she sugar coated nothing.  She was dearly loved and will not be forgotten.  She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Morris.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Teddy and Sherri Morris, son, Chester Mosley, and daughters Alisha Mosley and Nancy White, brother, Jim (Sandy) Blackmon and longtime friend and love, Wilbur Butler as well as a bunch of grandkids and a bunch of great memories.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Gillespie family in their time of need and asks everyone to keep them lifted up in your prayers over the coming days.
