Aladdin Luther Northrop, Jr., age 58 of Gulfport, passed away August 22. 2019 at Memorial Hospital. He was born to Laden and Dorothy (Craig) Northrop on October 5, 1960 in Louisiana. Luke, as his family and friends lovingly called him, was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Dub and Donnie Boy and sister Jody. He leaves behind seven children; Danielle Northrop, Chris (Sunny) Ladner, Josh (Meghan) Peterson, Little Luke Northrop, Samantha (George) Cowart, Theresa (TC) Northrop and Byron Northrop; siblings, Joann Starratt, Jean (Bud) Rogers, Ronnie (Tina) Northrop, Kernie (Dianne) Northrop, Alton (Carol) Northrop, Bull (Terri) Northrop and Pete (Linda) Northrop; and 19 grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Luke lived 1000 years of life in the short 58 years we had with him, because he attacked life. He grabbed it by the lapels, kissed it and swung it back onto the dance floor. Lukey had a free spirit that couldn’t be contained. He lived life his way, with no apologies. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley and mashed potatoes with lots of butter. Luke was known for his long entertaining stories, which he repeated often, and leaves many stories behind for his family and friends to reminisce on. While he has made his last wildly inappropriate and probably sarcastic remark, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Crossroads Baptist Church on Hwy 53 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow. Interment will be in Wolfe River Cemetery afterward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to offset funeral expenses for the family. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to be entrusted with the care of Lukey and asks that you keep his family in your prayers.
