Welch Ivan Hobby, Jr. 94, of Perkinston, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2024. He was Born on February 27, 1930 in Lorman, MS, resided in Leakesville, MS during his early years, and lived in many parts of the world during his military career until settling in Perkinston, MS in 1996. Mr. Hobby, known to most as Ivan, loved the outdoors and enjoyed his outings to the local casinos. He also loved his two furry companions, Molly and Gracie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Welch Ivan Hobby, Sr. and Velma Geneva Ball; his beloved wife of 65 years, Imogene Brown Hobby; his son, Richard Lee Hobby; and his siblings, Mary Alice Wood, Willie Rae Brown, Buddy Hobby, and Joe Hobby. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa K. Walker; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Tomlin Hobby and Carolyn Brown Whitehead; special friends, Jim and Connie Walker, Daniel Allman, and Sharon Roberts; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Family would like to thank the staff of Mississippi Home Health and Enhabit Home health & Hospice of Gulfport, as well as a very special thank you to his nurses and aides for their care, concern, and compassion over the past several months. A service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi or to ones favorite charity.
