Warren Odom Obituary

Warren Nick Odom, 60 passed away on March 24, 2024, at 4:25 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA.  He was born on December 6, 1963, in Poplarville, MS, the middle of three children to parents Ned and Veronika Albine (Felber) Odom.

Warren grew up in the Poplarville area for the most part, after spending some of his early years in Leesville, LA. and South LA.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding motorcycles, fast sports cars, and doing the various things that brothers do together.  While growing up, all through grade school and junior high, he and his brother, Zack, were two peas in a pod.  They, and their younger brother John, were always together for the most part, playing, building bicycles, and just enjoying childhood as little boys do. They even had a lawn care business in Poplarville as young boys to earn their own money and eventually each purchased a new motorcycle.  Warren was hardworking and determined.  Warren spent much time with his younger brother, John, in the arcades playing pool or Foosball or cruising up and down the streets of Poplarville in the various sports cars Warren owned through the years.

Warren attended Poplarville High School with the Hornets Class of 1981.  From there it was on to PRCC where he graduated from the Welding/Fabrication program and spent his career as a Welder/Fabricator at Ingall's Ship Yard in Pascagoula and later Bell Avon in Picayune until he became disabled.  He is remembered as a family-oriented man that truly loved his family. Warren also enjoyed gardening, growing plants, flowers, and vegetables throughout the years.  He enjoyed his aquariums and was one of those who just didn't sit idle.  He enjoyed music (being a DJ at local events) and playing his guitar.  He was really good at working with his hands.  A Jack of All Trades as they say.  There wasn't much he could not do when he set his mind to it.  His personality was warm and welcoming to everyone, which brought him many friends through the years.

While these few words could never paint the full picture of his life, we all know that Warren will be loved and missed by all whose life he touched.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Veronika Odom; brothers Sam (Big Sam) and Roger Geraldson, and a brother-in-law Raymond Holmes.  Left to cherish his memories are: brothers Zack (Esther) Odom of McHenry, John Odom of Poplarville, and Larry (Cherita) Geraldson of Conway, Arkansas, with his sister Becky (Raymond) Holmes of Magnolia; brothers and sisters-in-law: Daniel (Lisa) Hatfield of Seminary, Dawn Varnado of Poplarville and Jonathan (Ursula) Hatfield, also of Poplarville; and nieces Chrystal (Caleb) Mitchell of Biloxi, Samantha (Mitch) Davis of Poplarville, and Ashley (PJ) Dedeaux of Perkinston, along with additional extended family and friends through the years. He especially adored his great-nephews and nieces (Mackenzie, Conner, Brooke, Marisa, John Cameron, Sawyer, Loxley, and Maverick), getting hugs every chance he could.
