Ernest Joseph Cameron, born March 2, 1951, a lifelong resident of Kiln, Mississippi passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024 at home surrounded by the love of his family. His 73 years were marked by a deep passion for life and generosity that touched everyone he met. His unwavering faith guided him through life, and those who knew Ernest will remember a man rich in kindness, eager to lend a helping hand. He never hesitated to help those in need. From working on water pumps for family and friends to trying to feed any and all who entered his home, Ernest Cameron's legacy of love and dedication to his community and family will remain a source of inspiration long after his departure.
Ernest had a love for films including martial arts and westerns. He enjoyed movie dates with his wife ranging from Fast and Furious to Magic Mike. He particularly cherished spending time on his porch visiting with family and friends.
Ernest found joy in his work, from dedicating many years as a skilled pipe-fitter at Ingall’s to serving the community through the Forestry Service and finally as a heavy machine operator for Hancock County.
Ernest is preceded by his parents Stanley and Verina (Ladner) Cameron; Sisters Geraldine Necaise, Bernice Ladner, Charlene Cameron, Barbara Necaise, and Verna Mae Ladner; Brothers Stanley Cameron Jr. and Gerald Cameron; Granddaughter Miranda Cecile Freeman.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 35 years Starlette Cameron; Sister Ann Byrd; Children Shandee Cameron Freeman, Candace (Kevin) Lott, Kyle Cameron, Ryan (Tasha) Cameron; Grandchildren Logan Freeman, Jade (Dalton) Sellers, Kailea Cameron, Jordan Cameron, Jacia (Kyle) Kuns, Kaiden Lott, Kamryn Lott, Tristan Cameron, Kaiydance Cameron, Brooke (Michael) Wyatt, Brant Dorsey, Raven Cameron, Ava Cameron; Great-grandchildren Maddox, Emerson, Emma Grace, and Maylee Kuns; Eli, Emma, and Elise Sellers; Brixton Dorsey. As well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until 1 PM on Monday, April 1st at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kiln, Mississippi. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 PM with Father Paddy Mockler officiating. Burial will follow at Standard Hill Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Cameron family in their time of need and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
